The complex immunopathogenic mechanism
of psoriasis
Our understanding of the complex immunopathogenic mechanisms driving psoriasis focuses on the interactions between keratinocytes and immune cells within the inflammatory pathway. This helps explain the cycle of inflammation.3
Current unmet need in psoriasis
Patients with psoriasis experience a burden that goes beyond the skin. A number of observational studies and patient surveys show that not all patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis achieve clear skin, which can impact their quality of life. Better understanding of the complex immunopathologic mechanism of psoriasis is needed.
57%
of patients being treated for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis did not feel they were achieving clear/almost clear skin.4*
~23%
or only about one in four patients, achieved complete skin clearance after 6 months of treatment with biologics.5†
~94%
of patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis felt their psoriasis imparted a moderate, large, or very large effect on quality of life.6‡
